Spotlight on November Chapter Meeting & Elections

Join us for the November 17, 2017 Chapter meeting at the newly renovated Santa Barbara Inn at the beach. We were fortunate to bring back both presenters from the February meeting which was cancelled due to weather.

The 50 fastest growing companies in the Tri-County areas were listed in the September 22-28, 2017 issue of Pacific Coast Buisness Times. FPA of Ventura County Chapter members Seth Streeter and Brad Stark and their company Mission Wealth founded in 2000 not only made the list at number 33, but are highlighted in an article as one of the "Editor's Choices." Congratulations on your accomplishments!

Your Voice - Advocacy

Advocacy Week Wrap up

Our Chapter is doing its part to advocate on behalf of the members. Current Chapter President John Buerger, CFP® is not only presiding over our chapter, but he is also the FPA of California President. This year, Chapter Advocacy Chair Mike Marangola, CFP® joined the Califonia Board and is currently finishing up Advocacy week with a meeting on Friday, October 6th with Congresswoman Julia Brownley of the 26th District (Southern Central Coast and most of Ventura County). If you are interested in participating to help shape the legislative future for the financial profession this is a great opportunity to get your feet wet. Contact Mike if you would like to join him at this meeting.

 ANNOUNCEMENT
New Partnership for Comfort Keepers

Comfort Keepers Home Care, a sponsor of FPA, is proud to announce that Kaiser Permanente began a partnership with Comfort Keepers Home Care in Ventura County in late July, 2017.  This follows a series of partnerships with Kaiser Permanente and other Comfort Keepers offices in other counties and areas of California that began in 2010.  As part of this relationship, Comfort Keepers will further customize, and give more favorable terms, for the eldercare in-home services they provide to Kaiser Patients in the following manner:

  • Comfort Keepers will give a 5% discount on services.
  • Comfort Keepers will lower their minimum hourly visits to two hours, reduced from the normal four hours.
  • Comfort Keepers will provide a free home-safety assessment, with no obligation to buy anything
